Hello, I've only had basic musical training as a young child and was doing fine with the EarMaster tutor until lesson 13. Now that the intervals do not share a common note, I feel completely lost. Does anyone have any advice on how I can learn to tell the intervals apart? I do have access to a grand piano through garage band.
Thanks!

Lesson 13 interval comparison help summary
Thanks, I didn’t find much info with my initial search, but here is a summary of what I found to help with Lesson 13 after looking through many posts:
0. Work “offline” for a bit to develop familiarity with intervals before tackling later EarMaster exercises.
1. Sing intervals as you practice
2. Associate a unique mood and color with each interval
3. Check the “Interval Examples” post in General Discussion for identified intervals in well known songs and listen out for intervals in music
If anyone has additional advice, please share!
Best regards,
Jan

I forgot to mention another piece of advice: you may want to move on to Interval Identification if you are stuck in Interval Comparison.
The Interval Identification window suggested using "Music Theory Help" under the Help menu (I didn't realize there was music theory help!) It contains good advice about learning intervals there, and a list of template melodies to kick start the process.
Hope this helps!
