Problems with the rhythm dictation

Post by nandator4 »

I'm having problems to open the rhythm dictation's exercices. When i press begin it shows a message saying that it doesn't have enough room to process the command. And then it doesn't let me continue. What can i do to fix it?
Thanks!

I have this exact same problem. Is there no fix? I looked at older posts and saw none addressing it.

Hello,

What OS are you using? (Windows or Mac and what version)

What screen resolution are you using?

Best regards,
Quentin

Another question to help you solve the problem:

With what Exercise Area and tutor lesson is this message shown?

If it is not a tutor lesson, what are the settings of the customized exercise when this is happening?

I have the problem at customized exercise. (in Windows)
I tickled the notes, special notes, the numbers of measure (2) and speed (65)
, but NO tie or rest or swing rythym details.

Have you updated EarMaster with the newest version (from the HELP menu, then "Check for Updates")?

Nothing is happening on our computers at the office when we tried with both XP and 7.

If your computer/EarMaster is set to English, what is the exact error message showing on the screen (the one in the first post above must be a translation, because it doesn't correspond to any error message in EarMaster)?

Could you try to translate it in your own words then, because the first error message by Fernanda doesn't really ring a bell. We can't find out what error message it might correspond to.

Thanks in advance.

Well I rarely got another message that I just luckily got today at the same place, it says in english:
"Access violation at address 005A6515 in module 'Ear 50.exe' Read of address 00143000"

But the original, that comes up when i click on rythym dictation in the set up language means something like :
"There is no enough space( i guess it suppose to mean memory but doesn"t say whether in Ear master or Win) to fulfill the procedure."

Also very strange that some days I don't get any message and i can do the program without any problem, but I got this message like each second/third time.I have no clue what it could depends on.

Hope i could help.

Rhythm Dictation

Post by PF »

Hello all,

I am having the same problem with the rhythm dictation. I'm on windows, still on the trial version. The first two days I had no problem at all. The third day, I started receiving the following message:

Not enough storage is available to process this command

The message comes out whenever I go into the rhythm dictation customized exercise.

Please write to support with the exact settings you have in the customized exercise (you could for example make a screen dump of the customization window). Then we can look further into this problem.

Rhythm Dictation

Hello again,

I could not get a snapshot of the customization window, but I noted down the settings that I am using.

In the "Note values" section:
half note, quarter note, eighth note, sixteenth note, dotted quarter note, triplet eighth notes.

In the "Time signature" section:
3/2 and 2/4.

I included rests.

Bars running: 2

Initial tempo: quarter note = 90

It is to note that every time I go back to the program window, the same message box appears on top of the previous ones.

It didn't occur to me that this might be related to the customized settings; however, after reading your message, I changed the settings, and the program worked normally.

It remains a good idea of course, to try to know why this is happening with these specific settings.

Thanks for helping,

PF

If there actually is a bug, we will notify users on the forum (and of course fix it). We are currently investigating the problem, but haven't noticed any abnormal behaviour from the program. If other users experience the same thing, please let us know and remember to tell us your settings (in EXERCISE SETTINGS and the CUSTOMIZED EXERCISE window). We'll keep you updated on how our investigation turns out as soon as we have something new. :-)
