How to disable Update for all users?

Hello,
I'm working in IT department and would like to deploy applicaiton "EarMaster School 5" to all users, but I would like to make sure they will not be prompted to run upgrade even first time launching the applicaiton. How I can disable upgrade asking pop up window for all users at program execution? Thanks.

Hello,

As EarMaster School site license is delivered on CD.Rom, it is necessary to run the update to have the latest bug-free update.

If it is installed on the server only, running the update from there will be enough.

If it has been installed on the clients, they will have to be updated individually. If you don't want to update the program, the users must decline the update and tick the "Don't show me this message again" box, but the students will be using an obsolete version.

I fully understood that users can individually tick mark and suppress window from appearing. BUT it is not a solution for us, because my main issue is - how I can control that update message will not appear at all, even if user is started applicaiton for first time ever. It is ok, that version will not be the latest (obsolite), most important that after installation on the client PC and running under new account it will not ask user for upgrade at all.
It is any config file I can modify or registry entry that can be preseted to all users and it that entry exist EarMaster will not ask user to upgrade.

Something that just came to my mind:

The "Check for updates" window is only shown to administrators. When a new user/student is created, you should give him or her student access level in EarMaster, not administrator. This way, they won't see the "check for updates" message.

Thanks for very fast reply.
I have noticed that. But it is any option to disable for administrators as well? Because this applicaton will be distributed to students PCs, where they are local administrators.
Maybe You can advice where (folder or entry in registry or file) I can deny permissions to administrators and that way they will not be able to receive that PopUP.
The main idea is to make applicaiton function as easy as possible. I almost did all necessary, so students can simply execute and start to work and not bothered with any notifications!
Thanks in advance. Any solution will be appreciated! I know it is not standard request, but because Yo uare vendor of applicaiton, maybe You can recompile Your main "Ear50s.exe" executable to not call for this function responsible for Update. I know it might sounds crazy, but this solution or any other will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

It doesn't matter if they are administrator in Windows or OSX. The only thing is to set their access level to student in EarMaster. There are 3 access levels in EM School: Student, Teacher and Administrator. For each new user you create (in User Maintenance), you can set an access level. Simply choose "student", and they won't receive a notification when they start the program the first time.

Alternatively, you can also update the installations yourself (either by installing the newest version directly by burning the newest installation file (from the EarMaster website) on a CD-Rom or running it from the internet: www.earmaster.com/download/school.htm or by running the update (it takes about 2 minutes to update the program), and they won't see any notification. It can't see the point in running an old version, when a newer is available. They will have a better experience with the updated version.

Thanks, but in general my question was not that I do not want to upgrade, no. Main issue is to disable popup message.
I have found that You keep that infor in couple of files that are coded and inside is hardcoded information about user profiel, so I'm not able to use it for all users.
But maybe in Your next versions You can suimply add Upgrade Notification Windows switch-control somewhere in the registry, so it will be possible easelly to control this window centralisly.
But offcourse it is more or less up to You. Thanks anyway for Your assistance.

The update window is only shown once to the administrator of EarMaster, not to other users, as long as new users have student access level, not administrator level in EarMaster School. This is done so that people don't use a version of the program that may have problems, which is quite a nice feature/service.

Furthermore, it is free to update the program, so why not use that? It should be in the administrator's an the school's interest to install the most up-to-date version so that users don't experience bugs.
