Melodic dictation

Post by Remcoremcoremco »

Lesson 35. IV-V-I progression it says. 11 tones. But I dont hear a progression at all, only two octave notes...

Some setting?

Thanks,

The melody is based on the IV-V-I progression, but since it is still only the melody being played it is not possible to hear the progression - so telling it is based on a progression might just cause confusion here.

Hi,

What does that mean that the melody is based on a progression?
I know a progression can be played to determine the scale.

Do you mean the tones played are well harmonized with iV-V-I chords?

Thanks

Do you mean it would have indeed been better if Earmaster did not mention the progression in that excerice and my confusion is justified?

Yes, I think it just causes confusion to mention the progression.
