I'm using the ruse to get round the funny feature where Interval Recognition with the melodic setting holds down the sustain pedal so you get the interval played harmonically as well, by using the xylophone patch.
But...the xylophone patch (i think that's the term for it) on my Win7 pc is out of tune (in the bass)!! The lower notes sound very odd indeed, and subsume more than one tone.
Is there somewhere you can get a betting xylophone patch?
Will the next version of EM have melodic interval recognition without the harmonic as well?

HI,
In the FAQ (Support pages), we explain how to use EarMaster with an external sound unit. I can warmly recommend the combination LoopBe1 (MIDI virtual patch cable) + SynFonOne (by SynthFont) + the Fluid GM soundfont.
They're all free and can be found easily on the web. Besides making it possible to choose any soundfont you want to use with EarMaster (and there are thousands out there), it will sound much better than the standard sounds as they are usually made of samples of real acoustic instrument, not mere synthesis.
Staccato playback of intervals is indeed on the to-do list for V6.
