I downloaded the trial version of EarMaster Pro 5 for Mac and after the download was completed, I dragged the folder into "Applications". I tried to launch the program and the only message I get is:
Error creating registry data
I click OK (because it is the only option)
and the next message is:
Error reading from registry
Unknown Run-Time error: 210
I click OK again, and the first message appears again, with a dialog box showing that EarMaster is trying to install itself, then both messages disappear after 2 seconds and thats it.
I can not open/install it, i deleted the driver and program and downloaded it again : same result.
What am i supposed to do?
EPIC FAIL :S
Trial version EarMaster Pro 5 wont even open/launch

I am the only user on my Mac, so I guess I have administrative rights. I dont have any problems installing other software, I just have to type in my password and that´s it. But the dialog box requesting the password cantappear because the program will not even open ... because of this unknow error 210.

When you write "folder" in your first post, are you referring to the file you downloaded from our website (file name: EarMaster_Pro_5.dmg featuring a hard-drive icon)?
The error message you are getting might come up if the program has not been installed. Please make sure that you followed the steps described blow when installing EarMaster:
1) When you download EarMaster, you get an image file (hard disk icon). When you double-click on that file, a pop-up window will show. You then have to drag the EarMaster icon over to the Applications Folder shortcut, following the arrow.
2) EarMaster will then be installed into your Applications folder. Once this is done, you can unmount the image file by clicking on the "Eject" icon next to it in the Finder of OSX (left column), and delete it or save it for later use.
3) EarMaster should only be started from your Applications folder or from the Dock. To place EarMaster on your Dock, simply drag the EarMaster icon from your Application folder to the Dock.
If this doesn't work, please let us know and we will try something else.

Hello,
I apologize for explaining those basic installation instructions on Mac, but you wouldn't believe how many times that actually is the solution for many users when they are freshly arrived from another OS.
I have just done a fresh install of EarMaster on one of our Mac with 10.5.8, and it works as it should so I am not sure why it is not working on your machine.
Could you perhaps send us a log report from OSX so that we may see what is going on in OSX when the program quits.
To find OSX logs, go to Applications-->Utilities-->Console
In the left panel, select All Messages. Then go to the FILE menu and choose Save a copy as....
Once you have saved the log, please send it to our support address: support (at) earmaster.com
