No Answer Input

I cannot get my microphone to work.
It worked when I initially loaded the program
At the moment all the Answer Inputs are ghosted except for the MIDI input.
But at the moment I have no MIDI interface connected to my sound card.
The microphone tuning wizard works fine but when running the lessons I have no microphone.
I am running Windows 98SE

Did you check volume -> Recorder (or microphone) and remove the mute. sometimes, it become mute inside the volume
