Earmaster and Macbook Air / Macbook Pro Retina Display

Post by derkorux »

Hi !

I'd like to buy a macbook air or macbook pro with retina display.
Now both have no optical drive. Is there any option to install my Earmaster 5 CD on these computers?

kind regards,
Tobias

Hi,
Sure, no problem. All you'll need to do is download the program (trial version) from the website of EarMaster and activate it with your serial number.
Cheers,

Hello,

I purchased EarMaster 6.0.1 from the Apple App Store and it looks like it does not support the Macbook Pro retina display.

The text is a bit blurry and not as crisp as other applications.

Do you plan to release an update for retina display support?

Thanks!

We are currently busy finishing EarMaster School 6 and after that we will make an iOS version.

So at the moment we have enough that will keep us busy.
It is therefore not on our list for the immediate future.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

In some cases, all that is required is to add the following to Info.plist:

<key>NSHighResolutionCapable</key>
<true />

I tried to add this but I notice the app uses code signing so the change does not work.

I know you are busy, but if you have access to a MBP with retina display, can you try this simple fix?

Thanks.

Unfortunately that does not work for EarMaster.
I wish it did! That would give us a fix for almost no work.

Hi
I'm running the trial version and considering whether to buy a license. The display is blurry on my retina display. Have you developed a fix for this yet? I see someone raised this issue in 2012.
Thanks
David

Hi David

I believe you have also written us an email? I have answered you there.

Short answer is that it is simply not possible to optimize EarMaster 6 for Retina with the platform that it has been developed on. So EarMaster probably won't support Retina until the next version, which will definitely have it.
