When I turn on the "Optimize pitch detection for lower ranges" in microphone calibration tool, melodic sight-singing and melody imitation stop recognizing pitches from any range.
Still, in the calibration tool pitches are detected correctly and interval singing also works perfectly. And there aren't any other problems with MIDI or playback in general.
When I listen my recorded answers in melodic sight-singing or melody imitation, all I hear is distorted unaudible noise. With the "Optimize pitch detection for lower ranges" option disabled the recorded answers play back correctly, and pitch detection works fine. Except for those lower notes (below C2), naturally.
The problem occurs with internal soundcard and mic, and with external firewire and USB audio interfaces and quality microphones, and with various sample rates and bit depths.
I'm running EarMaster 6 Pro on OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on a MacBook Pro.
