Delay in rhythm exercises? Solution here

Post by Quentin »

Quote from the EarMaster FAQ:

"EarMaster can compensate for the delay in your sound card. When you activate this compensation, EarMaster will use a wave file for the clap sound to avoid using the delayed sound in your sound card.

Go to the Tools menu, choose Program settings and find the MIDI devices tab. Here you can Synchronize rhythms by adjusting the delay."

There is another delay.
When you play chords.
The chord is played as individual notes.
C,E,G -notes in chord .instead of one sound you get 3 sounds.

Isn`t there a way to choose midi out to the audio card ?I have a usb sound card, its better than...Microsoft midi mapper or the other one...?!

If your soundcard has a built-in software synth, or if you can connect a hardware sound module to your external USB soundcard, then yes, you can simply route the MIDI output of EarMaster to your USB soundcard in the Program Settings (or Preferences on Mac).

Another way to achieve better -and sometimes faster- MIDI playback is to route the MIDI to a sample/soundfont player, as explained there: http://www.earmaster.com/support/faq.htm#sample_player
