Soundcards

Post by Frambo »

Hey folks, what recommendations do you all have for a good soundcard that does not have latency when using the rhythm exercises?
My computer came with some sort of soundblaster and that was very latent. Next I got an M-Audio Jam Lab for practising guitar through the computer but that has a tiny bit of latency with EarMaster rhythm exercises ~ not much, but enough to be offputting ~ I've set it up with the earmaster offset function but it's still a fraction out.
What are people using? Thanks :-)

soundcard latency

Post by Bojan »

Believe it or not Frambo, I use a built-in sound card, it came on a crappy Matsonic motherboard, and it doesn't have any latency time at all, as far as I could tell. I've been hearing other users of having bought an expensive sound card, which still has latency, so I really don't know what to tell you...

I also use the motherboard chip of my PC, and I have almost no latency. It may depend on the manufacturers' drivers, and your hardware in general.
