Access violation tVMLessonIntro.PrepareToShow

Post by muggs »

Condition:
Windows 10
Earmaster 7.7.85

Attempt to access General Workshops, Rythm Clapback.

Observation:
tVMLessonIntro.PrepareToShow
Access violation at address 00000000009EA17C in module 'Ear70.exe'
(offset 60A17C). Write of address 0000000000000008

Comments:
I've previously experienced this problem on several version 7 updates, as well as with other application menu selections.
I installed the application on a virtual machine and did not have any access violation issues.
I suspect the application is getting the wrong runtime installation, or something else in the environment, is causing a problem, as I have to use this machine for software development.

Please let me know if I can collect additional information that would help you investigate this problem. I have not been able to run this program for many months.

It seems this error is caused by the graphic engine in your virtual machine.

In EarMaster's preference, you'll find a section called "Developer settings". You can freely try different combinations of the first six options, from "UseDX" to "UseGPUCanvas". Hopefully, one of them will solve the issue.

Unchecking UseGPUCanvas worked.
Thank-you!
