Can't add rhythm to melodic dictation!

I don't know why, but when I customize the Melodic Dictation exercise, I check the rhythms I want, and the melody is played with rhythm, but i Can't write down my answer with rhythm! the note values are just Disabled.

Are they greyed-out or gone from the screen interface?

If they are gone, you can have them shown again by going in the "Tools" menu, choosing "View toolbar" and click on "Notes".

You can also right-click on the staff to change the note values of the cursor.
